Connecting to Wireless (Vista)

To Unsecure:

  1. Ensure computer is booted into Windows Vista. Click on the Network Icon vista wireless icon in the lower right hand corner:

  2. Click on the Connect to a Network text at the top. A window Similar to the following should come up:

    At this point, if you do not see any of these networks, you need to refer to your computer manual and ensure the wireless card is on. You will also want to ensure you are in a MSSU building.
  3. Double Click on the icon titled MOSOWirelessUNSECU…. After this you should see a window similar to the following:

  4. Click on Connect Anyway, and you should see the following window:

  5. After a few seconds, the window should change to:

  6. Check both the boxes (as you see above), and then click close. This may take you back to a window similar to this. If it does, close window as you are now connected. If it does not you are still connected.

To Secure:

  4. Enter the WPA Passphrase (which is key2southernis1) and click on the display characters checkbox to allow you to see and verify that you entered it correctly. Then click the connect button at the bottom of the window. You should now see a screen similar to:

  5. After a few seconds, the window should change to:

  6. Check both the boxes (as you see above), and then click close. This may take you back to a window similar to this. If it does, close window as you are now connected. If it does not you are still connected.
